Lower Costs, Increase InfoCube Modeling considerably
Infocube has long been known to be the most critical modeling component in SAP BI.
However, until now the only option available was subjective resource driven modeling.
Note 1: In a cube of 4 dimension and 7 CHARS there are 47 alternatives of modeling
In a cube of 13 dimensions and 40 CHARS there are over a billion options.
Note 2: There are the C4 (Critical 4) measurements of analyzing an InfoCube model
C1 = Information compromize, i.e. % change of total Infocube / reporting data elements.
C2 = System load on data loading, i.e. % change of Infocube loading time increase or decrease.
C3 = System load on reporting, i.e. % change in Reeport optimization.
C4 = InfoCube BI Footprint, i.e. % change of space the Infocube occupies in BW.
Checking an InfoCube for all C4 tests can prolong a 5 day exercise indefinately. We would need to build an InfoCube manually for 3 to 4 variable options. The each of the Infocube will need to be loaded and reports run.
Next we would need to run BI Statistics and collecting all the variables can become a time consuming exercise that most BI teams just do not have the luxury.
